The Baylor Bears landed former four-star wide receiver Darryl Stonum who is heading to Waco after he was dismissed from the Michigan Wolverines football program. Stonum was kicked off the team at Michigan for a violation of team rules which was most likely linked to a violation of his parole and a 10-day jail sentence.
Stonum says he understands his mistakes:
"I understand only I am responsible for my actions. I'm sad about how all of this turned out, but I completely understand. I love this school and my team and will miss them all greatly."
Stonum played three seasons with Michigan and this past year he caught 49 passes for 633 yards and four touchdowns. He has one year of eligibility left but since Stonum has already graduated he will be able to play right away. Stonum should be able to step in and compete for one of the starting wide receiver positions.
