2012 NFL Draft: Richard Crawford Selected No. 213 By Redskins

With the No. 219th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins have selected Richard Crawford, a defensive back from SMU. Crawford played in every game in his two-year career at SMU he was named to the Conference USA all-conference team each year and was a first-team member in 2011.

Crawford also saw time as a return man and averaged 12.7 yards per punt return, he returned one for 92 yards and a touchdown. He finished the 2011 season with 42 tackles, two and a half tackles for loss, two interceptions (six in his career), 10 pass breakups and a forced fumble. His versatility is something that could allow him to see the field early in his rookie season.
