After drafting Baylor's Robert Griffin III with the 2nd overall pick and then adding Michigan State's Kirk Cousins in the fourth round, there was no room on the Washington Redskins' roster for John Beck. The Miami Dolphins' 2007 second-round selection was cut Saturday by the Redskins, making him a free agent.
Beck, 30, spent 2007 and 2008 with the Dolphins, 2009 with the Baltimore Ravens, and the last two seasons with the Redskins. In five seasons, however, the Brigham Young product has only appeared in nine games, starting seven, and thrown for 1,417 yards, three touchdowns and seven picks in 239 passing attempts.
