NFL Mock Draft 2012: Michael Brockers To Cowboys Chatter Growing

With Pro Days of most of the major prospects completed, SB Nation has released its latest mock draft:

14. Dallas Cowboys, Michael Brockers, DT, LSU

Dallas' defense disappointed everyone last year, it may have even cost Rob Ryan a shot at a head coaching job. Holes in the secondary were obvious, but the Cowboys also need an impact player at defensive end. Brockers is one option for the Cowboys, who might be inclined to trade out of this pick.

Brockers, an extremely talented but somewhat raw defensive lineman from LSU, has been linked with the Cowboys in recent weeks, and he's one of the prospects Dallas will host in the next few weeks at their training facility in Valley Ranch.

In the modern pass-first NFL, the defensive line is considered one of the premier positions, and the best ones rarely fall out of the first round.

A team can never have enough pass rushers, especially in the NFC East which features franchise QB's in Eli Manning and Michael Vick, and most likely, Robert Griffin III.

A look at Brockers' performance in the national title game this season:
