Baylor's loss to Iowa State on Saturday had quite an impact on the matchups in next week's Big 12 conference tournament. First and foremost it allowed the Cyclones to claim the third seed in the tournament where they will take on the Texas Longhorns on Thursday. Texas is trying to keep its NCAA Tournament hopes alive and a win over Iowa State would be a shot in the arm. The Longhorns split the season series with the Cyclones during the regular season with each team winning on their home floor.
As the No. 4 seed, Baylor drops into a difficult matchup with Kansas State on Thursday. The Bears split the season series with the Wildcats but were inconsistent down the stretch going 4-4 in their last eight games.
