NFL Draft Rumors: Could Cowboys Trade Up For LSU's Morris Claiborne?

Under Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys have typically been one of the more active teams in terms of trading up and down the draft.

While Jones has openly speculated about trading down recently, the latest rumors from the Huddle Report, a widely respected NFL draft blog, have the Cowboys possibly trading up to the Cleveland Browns spot at No. 4 to take LSU CB Morris Claiborne:

Claiborne, the 2011 Jim Thorpe Award winner at LSU, is considered the top CB prospect in the draft by most analysts.

With elite speed and coverage skills at 5'11 180, he was one the lynch-pin of one of the most dominant defensive backfields in recent college football history.

However, while Claiborne may be as close to a can't miss prospect as you can find, trading up 10 spots to select him would cost the Cowboys most of the rest of their 2012 draft class, a steep price to pay considering they just forked over $50 million for free agent CB Brandon Carr.
