2012 NFL Draft: Michael Brockers Scheduled To Visit Dallas

In the weeks leading up to the NFL Draft, one of the hottest names has been former LSU defensive lineman Michael Brockers, who is set to visit Dallas in the midst of a tour of almost all of the teams in the top 15.

Brockers is one of the most physically impressive prospects in recent years, a 6'6 322 defensive end with 35 inch arms who ran a 4.97 40 at his LSU Pro Day.

However, he is also still fairly raw as a player, having played only two seasons in Baton Rouge as part of a deep defensive line rotation while racking up 2 sacks and 54 tackles as a sophomore.

He reminds SB Nation Dallas columnist and draft guru Archie Barberio of former Cowboy DE Chris Canty, an almost ideal 3-4 DL who can shuttle between both positions. A highlight tape from his 2011 season:

Jerry Jones has always loved projectable athletes in his time in Dallas, although he has been burned by going after raw defensive lineman like Ebeneezer Ekuban before.

Brockers may be long gone by the time the No. 14 pick comes around, but if he isn't, it could make for an extremely interesting decision for Jones and the Cowboys brain trust.
