Baylor Vs. Iowa State: Game Preview, TV Info And More

The Bears will try to rebound from a two-game Big 12 losing skid against a talented Cyclones team looking to cement their place in the NCAA Tournament.

After going 0-4 in their games against No. 3 Missouri and No. 5 Kansas, No. 10 Baylor looks to turn their season around when they host a dangerous 18-7 Iowa State team in Waco on Monday night.

Both the Tigers and the Jayhawks were able to shoot holes through the Bears 1-3-1 zone defense, which has looked increasingly suspect against elite competition in the last two seasons. It could he a huge problem against the Cyclones, who pair a 6'8 big man with great vision (Royce White) with a host of dangerous three-point shooters.

Iowa State, under second year coach Fred Hoiberg, has returned to national prominence by welcoming a host of transfers, highlighted by White, a possible first-team All Big 12 performer from Minnesota, who is leading the Cyclones in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

Offensively, the rest of the team spaces the floor around White, as Hoiberg typically runs out line-ups with three or four three-point shooters.

On the other end of the ball, Baylor desperately needs more production from star forward Perry Jones III, the pre-season Big 12 Player of the Year who gave them only 4 points on 2-12 shooting in their loss to Missouri on Saturday.

The 6:00 PM game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
