A pair of throwing touchdowns by quarterback Nick Florence and field goals by Aarron Jones has helped the Baylor Bears earn a 20-14 halftime lead over the Kansas Jayhawks in a Big 12 Conference football game at Floyd Casey Stadium.
Florence completed both his touchdown passes in the first quarter. The first was a 11-yarder to Terrance Williams while the second was a big 68-yard catch-and-run to Lache Seastrunk.
Jones nailed field goals from 35 and 22 yards out, the last capped the first half's scoring with 1:02 remaining in the second quarter and gave the Bears a six-point lead heading into the locker room.
Kansas' two scores came on a 59-yard rush from running back James Sims, who scored in the first quarter, and a 22-yard rush by Michael Cummings, who trimmed Baylor's lead to 17-14 with 5:46 to go in the second quarter.
The Jayhawks will receive the ball to start the second half.
