Baylor Bears quarterback Nick Florence will need to play better than he did last week as the No. 1 Kansas State Wildcats come to town this Saturday night.
Against the Oklahoma Sooners a week ago, Florence completed 12-of-33 passes for 172 yards and no touchdowns (though he did have a rushing touchdown) in Baylor's 42-34 loss. It was the first game this season that Florence did not throw a touchdown pass, as the Bears rank second in the nation with 367.7 passing yards per game and seventh in points, averaging 42.7 per contest.
For the season, Florence has thrown for 3,191 yards -- completing 61.5 percent of his passes -- with 25 touchdowns (tied for tenth in the country) and 11 interceptions.
It will be a stiff challenge for Florence and the Bears, as Kansas State is allowing 17.7 points per game, which is good for 14th-best in the nation. The undefeated Wildcats will try to keep their national title hopes alive in Waco this Saturday night.
