2011 Heisman Watch: Landry Jones, Robert Griffin III In Action On Saturday

Both Robert Griffin III and Landry Jones are in action on Saturday as the Sooners are in Tallahassee taking on the Seminoles while Baylor hosts Stephen F. Austin.

Two Heisman hopefuls will be on display Saturday night as Landry Jones leads the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners into Doak Campbell Stadium to take on the fifth-ranked Florida State Seminoles. Robert Griffin III, who introduced himself nicely to the country in Baylor's upset win over TCU, will look to pad his stats and lead Baylor to their second win of the season as the Bears play host to Stephen F. Austin.

Jones, Oklahoma's junior quarterback, was excellent in Oklahoma's lone game to date. Jones was 35-of-47 passing for 375 yards and a touchdown. It's fully expected that Jones will take another step forward in 2011, building off of his 2010 when Jones passed for 4,718 yards and 38 touchdowns against just 12 interceptions.

Griffin III, meanwhile, was clearly the star of Week 1 in the college football world. Griffin III led the Bears to an upset win over TCU, completing 21-of-27 passes for 359 yards and five touchdowns. Griffin III also ran for 38 yards on 10 carries - and even added a 15 yard reception on Baylor's game-winning drive.

Given their opponents, it's clear that Griffin III is likely to have a bigger day than Jones as Baylor is facing Stephen F. Austin while Oklahoma faces a top-five opponent.

It's certainly worth monitoring both quarterbacks throughout the night on Saturday as both figure to be Heisman hopefuls as the season progresses.
