The Baylor Bears men's basketball team may have disappointed this year after failing to receive a bid to either the 2011 NCAA Tournament or the NIT, but the women's basketball team is not disappointing thus far.
↵The Lady Bears defeated Prairie View in the first-round on Sunday, 66-30 to advance to the round of 32 today against ninth-seeded West Virginia, who upset the eighth seed Houston in the first round.
↵The top-seeded Lady Bears rolled again on Tuesday night, defeating West Virginia 82-68 en route to clinching a trip to the Sweet 16. The Bears will face off against the fifth-seeded Green Bay Phoenix when they take to the court again. Baylor does have the luxury of being in the Dallas bracket and will have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the Final Four in Dallas.
↵Not surprisingly, the other three top seeds are still alive as well. The Connecticut Lady Huskies, Tennessee Lady Vols and Stanford Cardinal all advanced to the Sweet 16 and all look likely to reach the Final Four.
