Bubble Watch: Baylor Bears On Outside Looking In For 2011 NCAA Tournament

As I said yesterday, the Baylor Bears needed to win last night if they want to play in the 2011 NCAA Tournament rather than the NIT. Baylor, however, didn't win, falling victim to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater, losing 71-60.

Needless to say, this is not good for Baylor.

The latest NCAA Tournament bubble watch over at SB Nation has the Bears out of the NCAA Tournament. Headed into yesterday's game, Baylor was on track to be a 12 seed following their win over the Texas A&M Aggies. What's worse for Baylor, though, is that Oklahoma State moved into the "First Four Out," pushing Baylor further away from a 2011 NCAA Tournament bid.

Still, all hope is not lost for Baylor. The Bears will get a chance to take on the seventh-ranked Texas Longhorns this Saturday to wrap up the regular season. A win there would do wonders for Baylor's tournament chances. Further, if the Bears make a solid run in the Big 12 tournament, that will also further help their chances.

The outlook definitely isn't in Baylor's favor. If I were betting, I'd bet that Baylor would be headed to the NIT. That's why they play the games, though, and Baylor still has a shot to make a run and earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
