2011 Bubble Watch: Baylor Can Help Themselves With Win

It's certainly no secret that the Baylor Bears men's basketball team has been disappointing so far this year. After beginning the year ranked in the top 25 and holding a rank as high as No. 9 thanks to a 7-0 start, the Bears have come upon tough times. Since Baylor's 7-0 start, the Bears have gone a mediocre 10-10 and find themselves tied for sixth in the Big 12 standings.

The latest bracketology at SB Nation has Baylor on the outside looking in for the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Baylor finds themselves on the bubble - and not even in a positive way, either. The Bears are among the last eight out, with Alabama, VCU, Memphis, Colorado State and Clemson all listed ahead of them on the last teams out.

Still, all is not lost for Baylor. The Bears have two regular season contest games left against ranked opponents as they play host to the No. 17 Texas A&M Aggies today before hosting the fifth-ranked Texas Longhorns next Saturday in the regular season finale. The Bears also figure to play a couple ranked opponents in the Big 12 tournament.

It's looking more and more like an NIT appearance for Baylor, but who knows - crazier things have happened. The Bears almost certainly need a win today to give themselves any type of momentum and hope, though.
