According to most, Robert Griffin III is the 2011 Heisman Trophy front runner, well that is except for Paul Finebaum. It is well documented that Finebaum is very much pro-SEC and that he likes to create a reaction on his radio show.
Add Baylor Bears fans to the list of Finebaum haters as he left off Griffin from his Heisman ballot.
@finebaum Much heat leaving RG3 off my Heisman ballot. Nice player- but SEC defenses would have eaten him alive. Haters get a clue.
Then he struck back with this jab:
@finebaum For the lame critics of my Heisman ballot, just admit- Baylor would finish 6-6 in SEC West. RG3 would be watching the ceremony on tv.
Harsh words there.
While the Big 12 does not have the best defenses, Griffin did shred the Texas Longhorns defense which was ranked in the top 10 prior to their matchup. Griffin threw for 320 yards, passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more scores. The offensive performance by Griffin and the entire Baylor offense put up 511 yards which was the most allowed by Texas all year.
Wonder if Finebaum will call all the Heisman voters lame if Griffin wins the award as he is expected to.
