Holiday Bowl 2011: Texas Headed To San Diego According To A Report

Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com reports that Texas running back D.J. Monroe confirmed via his twitter account that the Longhorns were indeed heading to the Holiday Bowl on December 28.

Texas' D.J. Monroe just confirmed on Twitter that Texas is headed to the Holiday Bowl.

The Longhorns rumored opponent in the Holiday Bowl would be California who also finished 7-5 this season. Texas has also been rumored as a candidate to be headed to Yankee Stadium for the Pinstripe Bowl but it appears that it will be Iowa State taking on Rutgers in that game.

Texas lost three of its last four games but defeated arch-rival Texas A&M with a last second field goal in what was Mike Sherman's last game as head coach of the Aggies. Texas lost its season finale to Baylor 48-24
