2011 Bowl Predictions: Texas Now Looking Unlikely For Pinstripe Bowl, According To A Report

The bowl situation of many teams remains fluid and CBS Sports Brett McMurphy reports that while Texas is still a possibility for the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium it now appears as though it will be Iowa State taking on Rutgers on December 30.

Sources tell @CBSSports Pinstripe Bowl will pit Rutgers vs. Iowa State

Texas is still an option for the Holiday Bowl in San Diego that takes place on December 28. A possible opponent for Texas in the Holiday Bowl would be California who also finished at 7-5 this season. The Longhorns strong fan base makes them an extremely attractive option for bowls no matter what their record may be.

Iowa State finished 6-6 this season but made news by upsetting then No. 2 Oklahoma State, a loss that potentially could knock the Cowboys out of the BCS Title game. The Cyclones dropped their last two games losing to Oklahoma and Kansas State.
