Baylor Vs. Mississippi State: Baylor Bulldogs Hold On For 54-52 Win

The No. 6 Baylor Bulldogs faced their toughest opponent of the 2011 season yet on Wednesday night, the No. 14 Mississippi State Bulldogs, and walked away from a close, low-scoring game with their 13th consecutive win to remain one of the few undefeated teams in college basketball. The Bulldogs scored their lowest amount of points on the season so far, 54, but were able to hold Mississippi State to 52.

Baylor was led by junior guard Pierre Jackson, whose 14 points off the bench led the team. Jackson's layup with 28 seconds left in the game gave Baylor the 54-52 lead and the win. Freshman forward Quincy Miller added 12 and sophomore guard Brady Heslip added 11. Mississippi State was led by sophomore guard Jalen Steele and junior forward Renardo Sidney, who each scored 10 points. Senior guard Dee Bost also added nine.

Baylor will look to stay undefeated when they face Texas A&M on January 2 and Mississippi State faces Utah State on December 31.
