Anthony Jones scored 21 points and came up with five steals as Baylor defeated South Carolina State on Tuesday night by a score of 70-50. The Bears await the return of Perry Jones III from suspension but extended their winning streak to four games to start the season.
Baylor outscored the Bulldogs by 15 in the second half thanks in part to 22 turnovers from South Carolina State. Pierre Jackson scored 11 points off the bench while Brady Heslip and Quincy Ash each finished with nine. Quincy Miller had an off night scoring just five points.
Brandon Riley led the Bulldogs with 13 points while Khalif Toombs and Omar Sanders finished with 12 and 10 respectively. South Carolina State actually out rebounded the Bears 35-30 but couldn't take advantage due to their 22 turnovers. The Bulldogs shot just 34 percent from the field in the game.
