Baylor is looking for its fifth consecutive 4-0 start to the season when they host South Carolina State on Tuesday night. The Bears are still without the services of Perry Jones III while he serves an NCAA mandated suspension but freshman Quincy Miller has picked up the slack.
Miller is averaging a team best 18 points per game and will be part of an exceptional front line once Jones returns to the lineup. Jones has two more games remaining on his six game suspension to start the season. Miller has assumed the scoring responsibility this season in Jones' absence.
"My teammates always pass me the ball and tell me to shoot it because they know I can score," he said. "My team has confidence in me and that gives me confidence in myself."
South Carolina State enters the game with a 3-1 record and having won two straight. The Bulldogs are beginning a stretch of 13 of 16 games on the road. Baylor has won 22 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents after defeating San Diego State last week.
