Consider the potential of an Oklahoma State Cowboys offense WITH Baylor's all-everything quarterback Robert Griffin III. Through seven games, OSU is second in the nation in passing (387.43 yards), third in the nation in total offense (548.57 total yards a game) and second in scoring offense (48.57 points a game). Now imagine Griffin in that offense. The Baylor QB was named a Davey O'Brien semifinalist this week for a barrage of gaudy stats. Take it away, sports information!
Griffin III has completed 142 of 182 passes for 1,950 yards, 22 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He leads the nation in completion percentage (78.0), points responsibility (24.0) and passing efficiency (205.71). Griffin III ranks third nationally in total offense (374.17), tied for fourth in passing touchdowns (22) and seventh in passing yards per game (325.0).
RG3 earned his 44th school record, setting the single-game mark for passing yards with 430 yards, on Oct. 15 at Texas A&M. He also ranks 10th in school history with 1,850 career rushing yards.
Okie State head coach Mike Gundy compliment Griffin's improvement as a passer this season, which in terms of an air attack, is praise from Caesar:
"The numbers speak for themselves. When you can perform in as many games as he has, it speaks for itself. His quarterback rating and his completion percentage - he went through five weeks where he had more touchdown passes than incompletions, I think that's correct. His numbers speak for themselves."
