The Baylor Bears will finally end their bowl drought tomorrow when they take on the Illinois Fighting Illini in the Texas Bowl. Baylor last appeared in a bowl game in 1994 when it lost 10-3 to Washington State in the Alamo Bowl. Baylor will be hoping for better luck in the 2010 Texas Bowl.
↵The Texas Bowl is held at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The Baylor and Illinois game will be the fifth Texas Bowl in its history. The Texas Bowl has essentially replaced the Houston Bowl, which had operated from 2000-2005. In last year's Texas Bowl, Navy pasted Missouri 35-13.
↵Baylor heads into the Texas Bowl as marginal favorites- the Bears are anywhere between one- and two-point favorites, which means the game should be a close contest. Baylor will have to slow down the Illinois running game if they want to win. The Illini ranked 13th in the FBS in rushing yards per game with 242.3. Luckily for Baylor, the Illinois offense is one-dimensional. The Illini ranked 115th in the FBS in passing yards per game with a meager 143.4.
