As teams around the country jockey for seeding at the NCAA Tournament, one team appears to have locked up one of the four top seeds up for grabs.
On Monday night, the Gonzaga Bulldogs made quick work of St. Mary's in the West Coast Conference championship game. With a perfect conference record and 31-2 overall mark this season, Gonzaga seems like a safe bet to earn the No. 1 seed in the West Region.
As for the other three seeds available, there seems to be about five or six teams still in the running. Duke and Indiana have the inside track to two of them, although an early exit in their respective conference tournaments could make things awfully interesting come Selection Sunday.
The latest Bracketology update from Chris Dobbertean of SB Nation has Duke, Gonzaga, Indiana and Louisville as the four No. 1 seeds. The Blue Devils would headline the East Region. The Hoosiers would hold the top spot in the Midwest, while Louisville gets the South. Joe Lunardi of ESPN echoed these statements in his latest update.
Selection Sunday is set for Sunday, March 16 at 6 p.m. ET.
