The North Dakota State Bison defeated the Sam Houston State Bearkats,39-13 on Saturday afternoon in Frisco, Texas, to win the 2013 FCS Championship.
The Bison outscored the Bearkats in the second half 29-3 behind a relentless rushing attack that totaled 300 yards for the game. Meanwhile, Sam Houston State's offense sputtered thanks to four turnovers, resulting in the Bearkats' second consecutive FCS title game loss.
North Dakota State running back Sam Ojuri rushed 14 times for 92 yards and two scores, both of which came in the second half. Meanwhile, quarterback Brock Jensen ran for 44 yards and found the end zone three times.
Down for most of the second half, Sam Houston State found itself throwing more than it would have liked. Quarterback Brian Bell completed 19 of 33 passes for 255 yards and a touchdown. He was also picked off three times.
The Bison finished the season with a 14-1 record, while the Bearkats ended their campaign at 11-4.
