2012 U.S. Open Tennis Results: Serena Williams Wins Fourth Title; Novak Djokovic Advances To Men's Final

Serena Williams rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the third set to win her fourth U.S. Open title, upsetting No. 1-seed Victoria Azarenka in Sunday's final round, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. The U.S. Open title is Williams' first since 2008. She also won in 1998 and 2002.

Azarenka was looking for her second Grand Slam win. She won the Australian Open in January with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Maria Sharapova in the final.

Earlier in the day, men's No. 2 Novak Djokovic overcame a loss in the first set to knock off No. 4 David Ferrer, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. Djokovic advances to Monday's men's singles final where he will face third-seeded Andy Murray. Murray advanced to the final with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (7) win over Tomas Berdych on Saturday. He won the gold medal in the Olympic men's singles competition in August and will play for his first-ever Grand Slam win.

Also on Sunday, American Samantha Crawford defeated Anett Kontaveit, 7-5, 6-3, in the junior girls' singles final. Filip Peliwo won the junior boys' singles title by defeating Liam Broady, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5.
