2012 U.S. Open Tennis Bracket: Women's Semifinals Features Serena Williams

Serena Williams will face Sara Errani in the U.S. Open Semifinals, while Maria Sharapova goes up against Victoria Azarenka on the other side of the bracket. The winner of these two matches will meet in the championship match on Friday.

Williams advanced to the semifinal round after defeating former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic in straight sets. Sharapova won her match on Wednesday against Marion Bartoli, resuming play after a rain delay on Tuesday. No. 3 Sharapova got behind in a 3-6 first set but came back strongly with sets of 6-3, 6-4 at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Sara Errani became the first Italian semifinalist at the U.S. Open since 1930 with her 6-2, 6-4 victory over Roberta Vinci early Wednesday afternoon.
