The Texans Longhorns managed to escape an upset at the hands of the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday, emerging with a 41-36 victory in Stillwater thanks to some late game heroics from David Ash and the Texas offense. The Longhorns win saw them jump from No. 12 in last week's AP Top 25 poll to No. 11 in this week's poll.

Alabama continued its stranglehold on the top spot in the AP poll, with Oregon, Florida State, LSU and Georgia rounding out the top five. The Crimson Tide received all the first place votes this week.

TCU defeated SMU 24-16 on Saturday, and remained at No. 15 in this week's poll. Baylor's 70-63 loss to West Virginia knocked the Bears out of the poll.
