Rangers vs. Angels preview: Yu Darvish gets Texas' doubleheader started

The Texas Rangers face a doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday following a rain delay. They'll get started on the first of those at 1:05 p.m. ET, when they'll send Yu Darvish to the mound looking for the one win that the Rangers need to punch their ticket into the postseason. Darvish has been stellar this season, boasting a 16-9 record and a 3.90 ERA. His last outing was a one-run affair in which he walked away with the win after a full eight innings.

He'll be up against Zack Greinke, who is 15-5 with a 3.42 ERA and is also coming off of a win in his last outing in which he allowed just one run. He's 5-0 with a 1.62 ERA in his last seven starts, and became the first pitcher in the live-ball era to strike out 13 in a five-inning outing in his last game.

While Texas is still fighting off the Oakland A's in the division (with the A's winning their game on Saturday, rallying in the ninth to force extra innings to take a 7-4 victory), they do hold a 2½-game lead over them. Oakland, meanwhile, holds a 2½-game lead over the Angels when it comes to the Wild Card spot, so both teams were affected by that one.
