2012 Tour Championship Purse: Brandt Snedeker Adds $1.44 Million To His Earnings

Brandt Snedeker took home $1.44 million for winning the 2012 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga. That represents a nice bonus to the $10 million that he earned by winning the FedEx Cup.

Justin Rose's sole possession of the runner-up spot earned him $864,000, while Luke Donald and Ryan Moore each pocketed $468,000 by tying for third place. Webb Simpson and Bubba Watson, who each netted $304,000, round out the top five.

Colleyville, Texas resident Hunter Mahan is $248,000 richer after finishing in a tie for eighth place with 100 million dollar man Tiger Woods. Mahan has now earned over $1 million in the past two years at the Tour Championship, as his runner-up finish at last year's event resulted in over $800,000 in winnings.

The total purse for the tournament was $8 million.

By winning on Sunday, Snedeker increased his 2012 earnings to just under $15 million, including his prize for winning the FedEx Cup.
