The Tour Championship 2012: Jim Furyk Takes Lead At East Lake

Jim Furyk has come out firing in the second round with an amazing start to vault to the top of the leaderboard at The Tour Championship. He is eight-under in the middle of the second round, two shots ahead of Matt Kuchar and four shots ahead of a four-man group tied for third place that includes Tiger Woods.

Furyk birdied seven of his first 10 holes to take the lead. East Lake Golf Club has proven to be a fair test for the rest of the field, but Furyk has made minced meat of it today.

Kuchar is having a solid round at three-under and he has yet to make the turn. Woods got off to a rough start with a bogey on the first hole, but got that back at number three and is even for his round after six holes.

Colleyville, TX resident Hunter Mahan is spraying the ball around with three bogeys and two birdies on the front nine. He is seven shots off the lead at one-under.
