2012 FedEx Cup Standings: Rory McIlroy Up Big, Phil Mickelson On The Rise

With another FedEx Cup victory over the weekend at the BMW Championship in Indiana, Rory McIlroy has extended his lead to 3,232 points as the FedEx Cup Playoffs approaches its final event.

The results of the BMW Championship cut the FedEx Cup Playoffs field to 30, and those 30 players will face off in the Tour Championship on September 17, which will be held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

McIlroy shot a final-round five under par on Sunday to claim the BMW Championship trophy a week after winning the Deutche Bank Championship in Boston. He defeated Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson by two strokes with the performance.

Mickelson's tied-for-second finish moved him from ninth-place all the way up to fourth, while Tiger Woods' fourth-place finish helped him overtake Nick Watney for second place in the standings.

The cut to 30 spelled the end of the playoffs for several golfers with Texas connections. Former Texas Longhorn Bob Estes tied for 37th in the tournament, making his final ranking in the playoffs 58th place. Baylor alum Jimmy Walker's ended his playoff run ranked 62nd, while fomer Texas A&M Aggie Ryan Palmer finished the playoffs ranked 55th.

Below is the top 10 headed into the playoff's final event (with the full 30 here).
