The Dallas Cowboys' first round pick won't see the field for the team's first preseason game. According to the Dallas Morning News, Claiborne, who sprained his left MCL last Wednesday, will be ready in time to play San Diego next week:
Morris Claiborne update: hopes to work out in pads tomorrow. He won't play vs. Oakland but plans on being ready for SD.

Claiborne won't require surgery, according to the team. Claiborne is under pressure to pay off big after being picked sixth overall. Dallas moved up six spots in the first round to take the former LSU Tiger, who is projected to be a lockdown cover corner at the pro level. Claiborne also missed spring drills and the Cowboys' minicamp after undergoing successful wrist surgery.
