2012 U.S. Open Tennis Results: Andy Murray, John Isner Win On Day 3

Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray defeated Croatia's Ivan Dodig, 6-2, 6-1, 6-3, on Wednesday night in the second round of the 2012 U.S. Open. He will face the winner of Feliciano Lopez and Pablo Andujar, two Spaniards, in the third round.

Elsewhere in men's singles, American John Isner took down Xavier Malisse, 6-3, 7-6, 5-7, and 7-6, in his first-round match, while Juan Martin del Potro defeated Florent Serra in straight sets (6-4, 7-6, 6-4).

On the women's side, retiring three-time U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters finished her career in a 7-6, 7-6 loss to England's Laura Robson. Meanwhile, No. 3 seed Maria Sharapova posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lourdes Domínguez Lino in under an hour. Sharapova will face American Mallory Burdette in the third round.

Serena and Venus Williams got going in women's doubles, beating Lindsay Lee-Waters and Megan Moulton-Levy, 6-4, 6-0, in a first-round match.
