2012 U.S. Open Scores: Top-Seeded Victoria Azarenka Cruises Over Kirsten Flipkens

Wednesday's set of matches opened with women's No. 1 seed Victoria Azarenka easily defeating Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens 6-2, 6-2 on Arthur Ashe Stadium's main court.

Azarenka will now advance to the third round and has lost just five games in her first two matches in this year's Open. Azarenka is seeking her second grand slam title after winning the Austrailian Open earlier this year and Wednesday's dominating performance had to strike fear into her opponents as she moves into the next round.

Nadia Petrova and American Mallory Burdette also advanced on the women's side with 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-4 victories over Simona Halep and Lucie Hradecka in their respective matches.

American John Isner is currently taking on Belgium's Xavier Malisse on Arthur Ashe's court and has jumped out to an early lead. For live updates or to view the match, head over to the U.S. Open's website.
