The 2012 U.S. Open Tennis Championships begin on Monday, Aug. 27 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Texas native Andy Roddick will start the tournament as the No. 20 seed, facing Ryne Williams on the first day of the Open.
The tournament has the potential to feature several high-profile matches, including a possible rematch between Andy Murray and Roger Federer. Murray, the No. 3 seed, will face Alex Bogomolov, Jr. at Arthur Ashe Stadium after the conclusion of a women's singles match between Petra Martic and Samantha Stosur.
Federer, No. 1 seed for the tournament, will take on USA's Donald Young at Arthur Ashe Stadium in the evening.
Television coverage kicks off at 9:30 a.m. CT on the Tennis Channel with live coverage beginning at 10:00 a.m. ESPN 2 will carry limited live coverage starting at noon before providing live Prime Time coverage from Arthur Ashe Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m. CT.
