Seahawks Release Former Cowboys WR Terrell Owens

Former Dallas Cowboy Terrell Owens has been released by the Seattle Seahawks, squashing his latest opportunity to make an NFL team. Owens took to Twitter to break the news he would no longer be with the team.

In Seattle's third preseason game, Owens caught two balls for 41 yards, however it wasn't enough to impress coach Pete Carroll and the rest of the Seahawks coaching staff. Perhaps the most noteworthy moment of Owens preseason was a drop in the endzone that would've been a 46-yard touchdown. Owens also reportedly was unable to keep up with fellow wideout Braylon Edwards.

Since parting ways with the Cowboys in 2008, Owens spent two more years in the NFL with the Bills and the Bengals. His last regular season football game came in an Indoor Football League with the Allen Wranglers.
