Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin is the latest Dallas player to suffer a hamstring injury, marking the second consecutive year that the injury hampered Austin during the preseason.
According to DallasCowboys.com, the injury may be enough to keep him out the entire preseason:
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after Saturday's loss to the Chargers that he didn't expect Austin to be back in the next week, which would include the dress rehearsal game at Cowboys Stadium against the St. Louis Rams.
He joins fellow Cowboys DeMarcus Ware (hamstring) and Jason Witten (spleen) on the growing injury list. Both of those players are also expected to be out for the rest of the preseason, so Dallas may be looking at a banged up starting roster when its first regular season game arrives.
Dallas lost its latest preseason game to the San Diego Chargers, 28-20.
