College Football Rankings: Preseason AP Top 25 Poll Ranks Texas No. 15, TCU No. 20

College football voters for the Associated Press released their preseason AP Top 25 poll with the Texas Longhorns ranked No. 15 followed by TCU at No. 20.

Texas starts the season in a solid position among pollster following a disappointing 8-5 season last year. The Longhorns ranking makes them third among Big 12 teams in the eyes of the voters with Oklahoma leading the way at No. 4 and West Virginia at No. 11. The AP ranking matches the No. 15 ranking for Texas in the USA Today Coaches' poll.

After moving from the Mountain West Conference, TCU will begin their 2012 Big 12 campaign ranked No. 20, one slot behind Oklahoma State and two ahead of Kansas State, giving the conference six teams in the AP Top 25 rankings. The Horned Frogs are ranked ahead of the Cowboys in the USA Today Coaches' poll at No. 17. TCU and Texas will face each other in Austin on November 24th.

At the top of the poll, USC is ranked No. 1 followed by SEC powers Alabama at No. 2 and LSU at No. 3.
