Once again, it was Rory McIlroy that was the story at a major event -- and not Tiger Woods. McIlroy obliterated the competition at the 2012 PGA Championship, finishing with a score of -13, eight shots better than runner up David Lynn, who finished at -5.
Tiger Woods, noted golf legend, finished tied for 11th in the tournament with a final score of -2. Woods finished Sunday even par.
Five American golfers finished tied with or ahead of Tiger Woods as well. Keegan Bradley finished tied for third at -4, while Blake Adams and Steve Stricker finished tied for seventh (-3). Ben Curtis and Bubba Watson (-2) were among those tied with Woods for 11th overall.
Phil Mickelson finished tied for 36th, with an overall score of +3.
British Open champion Ernie Els finished tied for 48th, shooting +5 for the tournament.
Former Oklahoma State golfer Hunter Mahan did not make the cut, after shooting 72 and 80 over the first two days of the tournament.
