The Tigers used a four-run sixth inning to defeat the Rangers 6-2. The Rangers were leading 2-0 after three innings with a Josh Hamilton solo shot and a RBI single by Elvis Andrus. The Tigers held the Rangers scoreless the rest of the way.
The scoring began in the fourth inning for the Tigers on a Miguel Cabrera RBI single, and then they took the lead for good in the sixth inning when Prince Fielder hit a three-run home run to go up 4-2. Rangers starting pitcher Scott Feldman gave up all four of those runs and was credited for the loss to drop his record to 6-7.
The game was bookended when the Rangers had an inside the park home run by Austin Jackson. Jackson was the key for the Tigers as he went 2-for-4, a walked, had a RBI and scored two runs in the win.
