Wimbledon 2012: Roger Federer Advances To Finals With Win Over Novak Djokovic

Roger Federer defeated defending champion Novak Djokovic in four sets at Centre Court of the All England Club on Friday morning to advance to the finals of the 2012 Wimbledon Championships, marking Federer's eighth run at a Wimbledon championship.

In terms of classic matches, this particular battle lacked parity: Federer seemed to coast through most of the match, winning by a final score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. A seemingly confused Djokovic managed to win the second set, but that would be his only lead on the day. The defending champion faulted several times with balls hit into the net, and grew visibly angry with his play after the second set.

Federer, advancing to the final for the first time since beating Andy Roddick in 2009, now waits for his finals opponent - He will play the winner of Friday's afternoon match between No. 4 Andy Murray and No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
