Wimbledon Scores And Results

Avid tennis fans will be pleased with Wednesday's results at Wimbledon, as fans are now promised what should be an excellent match in one of the two semifinal matches.

Both Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer advanced on Wednesday, pitting two of the three best tennis players in the world against each other on Friday.

Top-seeded Djokovic won in straight sets over No. 31 Florian Mayer, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4.

Federer, like the Djoker, also won in straight sets -- and with even more ease than Djokovic. Federer defeated the 26th seed, Mikhail Youzhny 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, in one of the more dominant quarterfinal efforts you'll find.

A semifinal between Djokovic and Federer is essentially all tennis fans could have asked for coming into the tournament, and it'll certainly add a bit of luster to Wimbledon this year, after Rafael Nadal was knocked out last week.

The other Gentlemen's semifinal will pit the fourth and fifth seeds against each other. Fourth-seeded Andy Murray defeated No. 7 David Ferrer in four sets, 6-7 (7-5), 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

Murray will face fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
