Wimbledon Scores And Results: Serena Williams Advances, Mardy Fish Eliminated

On Tuesday at the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon, the final two American men's singles players were eliminated from their tournament, while the lone American women's player looked strong while defeating the defending champion.

In the ladies' quarterfinals, Serena Williams had a dominant win over 2011 Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova. Williams advanced to the semifinals by defeating Kvitova in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5. Later this week, Williams will face the winner of the match between 2-seeded Victoria Azarenka and Tamira Paszek. If she prevails in that match, she'll be headed to the semifinals.

In men's play, the two remaining American players were both ousted from the tournament. Mardy Fish was defeated by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4, 6-4. On Court 12, Brian Baker's run also came to an end in the Round of 16 as he lost out to Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6, 6-3.

Andy Murray defeated Marin Cilic to advance to the quarterfinals, while David Ferrer ousted Juan Martin del Potro.
