Daily Preview 2012 London Olympics: Two Texas Area Athletes Ready To Compete On Saturday

On Saturday in London, two athletes with Texas ties will compete in their individual events in their quests to earn gold medals.

Sarah Scherer, who attended college at TCU, will compete in the women's 10-meter air rifle competition. Scherer is very familiar with the event as her older brother competed in the same event during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Destinee Hooker, a native of San Antonio, went to college at the University of Texas and will compete in the women's indoor volleyball tournament as the United States takes on Korea in the preliminary round of Group B.

Scherer's event will begin competition at 1 p.m., ET while Hooker and her teammates will begin play at 3 p.m., ET.
