The NBA released the schedules for all 30 teams on Thursday and the Dallas Mavericks find themselves opening the season on the road against the new look Los Angeles Lakers who acquired Steve Nash in free agency this summer.
The Mavericks and Lakers will play again on Thanksgiving at American Airlines Arena and on New years day, the Dallas will go on the road to play the Washington Wizards.
Adding an interesting caveat, they will face their former point guard Jason Kidd and his new team, the New York Knicks for the first time on November 9th at Madison Square Garden and their former spark off the bench, Jason Terry, and his Boston Celtics squad on the road, December 12th.
The Mavs as a whole have undergone quite a bit of roster transition this summer and with the first full 82-game schedule being played since the 2010-2011 season and in a slightly improved Western Conference, Dallas, being a veteran ball club should be able to come together and have a very productive season.
