2012 British Open Leaderboard: Brandt Snedeker Has The Lead

Adam Scott made history on Thursday with a score of 64 at Royal Lytham and St. Anne's, setting a new course record. It now is tied.

Brandt Snedeker has a piece of the mark, after having a wonderful round and also shooting a 64. Snedeker has the outright lead in the 2012 British Open with a score of 10-under heading into the weekend.

Scott is in second trailing by just one shot while Tiger Woods is in third, only four strokes back at 6-under.

Americans Matt Kuchar and Jason Dufner both had terrific rounds on Friday, giving themselves a real chance heading into the weekend.

Kuchar made quick work of the course with a 67 to move into a tie for fourth at 4-under par with Dufner and others. Dufner climbed 33 spots after polishing off his second day with a 66.

As for players who didn't play so well today, Rory McIlroy had a rough day to say the least. McIlroy shot a 75 and all but ended his hopes of winning his first major this year, sitting at 2-over for the week. The up-and-comer is currently tied for 52nd.
