2012 NCAA Super Regionals: TCU Eliminated After Losing To UCLA 4-1

The TCU Horned Frogs have been eliminated from the NCAA Tournament after losing to the UCLA Bruins 4-1. UCLA now punches their ticket to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., as they won the best-of-three series against TCU.

The Bruins got on the board first in the second inning when first baseman Trevor Brown tripled and then scored when Pat Valaika hit a sacrifice fly. UCLA went up 2-0 in the top of the third inning when Tyler Heineman managed an RBI ground out.

TCU finally got on the board in the bottom of the third inning when right fielder Brance Rivera led off the bottom of the third with a home run. That would be the only run that the Horned Frogs would put on the board Saturday night.

UCLA would go onto put up two more runs, one in the seventh and eighth innings to extend their lead to 4-1. TCU was not able to get any runners in scoring position over the final two innings to make a comeback attempt against UCLA.
