Baylor was able to force one more game against Dallas Baptist as they defeated them Sunday night 9-2. Dallas Baptist starting pitcher Jay Calhoun was knocked around by the Baylor offense and lasted only 2.2 innings while allowing six runs, six hits and walked two.
Baylor broke open the game in the third inning by scoring four runs which started when left fielder Dan Evatt hit a two-run home run, and then Baylor scored two more runs on an error by Dallas Baptist third baseman Kenny Hatcher who bobbled a ball hit directly at him.
Dallas Baptist did score two more runs to make the game interesting at 6-2, but Baylor responded by scoring a run in the seventh and then two more in the eighth inning to win 9-2.
Baylor will face Dallas Baptist in the final game of the Waco Regional on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. CT.
