2012 NCAA Baseball Texas A&M Regional: TCU Defeats Ole Miss 5-2

TCU has avoided elimination in the College Station regional and is now in the championship game after defeating Ole Miss 5-2. This was TCU's second game of the day after eliminating Texas A&M in order to make it this far.

The game was pretty slow as Ole Miss scored a run in the first inning, but then the scoring picked up in the middle innings for TCU. TCU was able to score a pair of runs in the fourth inning when Derek Odell hit a two-run home run to go up 2-1.

The TCU offense kept clicking as they scored a run in fifth, sixth and seventh inning to pull away, and four of those runs came off of Ole Miss starting pitcher R.J. Hively. Ole Miss did get a run in the sixth inning, but they were not able to put any more runs on the scoreboard after that.

These two teams face off again Monday at 6:30 p.m. CT where the winner advances to the Super Regional round.
