Lamar Odom To the Clippers?

That's the latest from Marc Stein

The Los Angeles Clippers have engaged in trade discussions to bring Lamar Odom back to the L.A. team that drafted him, according to sources close to the situation.

Yet the deal, sources said, could hinge on the willingness of a third team to take on the contract of Clippers veteran guard Mo Williams, which would allow the Dallas Mavericks to send Odom to the Clippers with no significant money coming back to the Mavericks.

Odom was a colossal bust here in Dallas and shipping him for a bag of used beans would be a win for Dallas. Odom is under contract for one more season at 8.2 million with a buyout of 2.4 million that would have to be exercised by June 29th. It was suggested earlier that the Mavs were working with Odom to move the buyout date to mid-July to help them in a potential S&T with the Brooklyn Nets for Deron Williams. It appears Odom was not receptive to this idea by this latest news.

In any case, the faster Odom is out of Dallas the better. Good riddance to the worst Dallas Maverick of all time.
